Vaella Laella

Kirgiisia on jurttien ja nomadiperinteen kaunis maa, täällä ei voi olla kokematta aitoa nomadihenkeä ja parhaimmillaan se on jurtassa!! Jo jonkin aikaa sitten virisi meillä tuuma tuoda jurtta taikka kaksi Bussin katolla Suomeen osana taideprokkistamme ja lasten taidetyöpajakäyttöön.

Aikeet jurtan hankintaan on kevaalla, kunhan oikeat rahoituskanavat loytyvat:) Olemme jo aloittaneet tutkimukset Bertan löytämiseksi ja ennenkaikkea alkaneet opiskella jurttaan liittyviä perinteitä, joita riittää. Jurtta on alun perin ollut paimentolaisperheiden asumus vuoristolaaksoissa; kätevä kokoonlaitetta koti voi aina liikkua sinne missä karjan on paras laiduntaa eli ruoho on vihreintä. Nykyisinkin kesäisin tuhansittain jurttia pystytetään korkeammallekin vuoristoon, ilmasto on siellä kesäisin mieluisa. Kesäleiriä kutsutaan nimellä jailoo ja siellä asutaan tavallisesti huhtikuusta syyskuun loppuun.

Pääsimme yhden päivän aikana tutustumaan jurtan pystyttämiseen ja purkamiseen paikallisessa perheessä Balychissa.

In Kyrgyzstan, in the nomadic land of yurts and beautiful mountains, we came up with the idea to travel back home with a yurt on our roof top… Yurt will be part of our art project and in art camp use later in Finland.
In search of the right one; Bertha the Yurt, we have already learnt a lot about local traditions concerning yurts and handicrafts used in them. Also, we during one day we got to set up and take down a yurt in a local family. So much to learn still, we continue our explorations…

As part of the international world march for Peace, we wanted to make some peaceful action in the capital of Kyrgyzstan. It came out to be a happening for Friendship and Peace on a big Ala-Too Square in the very centre of Bishkek. We were three hours teaching people to make the ribbons of Friendship! Me, Gabriel, Eeva and Christian from Germany entered the square with our box of colourfull strings and Invitation in Russian saying: THIS IS THE DAY OF PEACE! JOIN US TO MAKE A RIBBON OF FRIENSHIP FOR YOURSELF OR FOR YOUR FRIEND. IT IS A FREE WORKSHOP!
