People of the desert
10. Heinäkuuta 2009 klo 16:41 Kirjoitteli: FreiaShortly in English too,
we have been exploring Azerbaijan three weeks now, done succesfully the visa work for Kazakstan and Uzbekistan, met many hospitable people, as well as some not so nice ones… Seen the landscape turning from green to the treeless desert… Seen the oil bumps all over by the coast. BAku city is built to desert, as crazy as it is… I admire people living in these conditions such in the temperature of 40 celsius degrees it really feels like summer. Said bye-byes to Veera who travelled back to Europe after five months excursion with us…
Especially beautiful it has been to meet the artists of the country; one on-the-road artist; Chingiz Azizov, 63years old keeping his exhibition by the road somewhere before Baku.
ALso, in the city we got in touch with the students of Art Academy who did some nice new decorations to our moving installation, pictures in the next chapter!
SO, ´tomorrow we shall move to the harbour and wait until there comes a cargo ship taking us over the oily Caspian Sea… The trip is said to take time anything between 16 and36 hours so lets see..
